Netlook 1.0.1 This release fixes a bug that occurs when you first install the application and it tried to display a nil entry. Subsequent runs were fine, but I didn't pick it up because I never totally deinstalled the application to test it. I have also removed the notify that was a remnant of the DTS code. It really wasn't neccesary. The mini chooser returns no other interesting information. This application and its source are freeware. You may copy and redistribute as you see fit. The application is based on the Mini Chooser-1 Sample code from Apple's PIE DTS which was written by by Todd Courtois. If you want a copy of the source, mail me at the addresses listed below. ¥ Description Netlook lets you build a soup of NBP entities you can get the Newton Mini-Chooser to search for. The entity records can be mailed, beamed, printed or faxed although none of these have yet been tested and probably fail horribly. There are a couple of other programs that do similar things to Netlook, but I wanted the practice programming and I wanted to make it nice and easy to configure. There is also a certain amount of use in being able to mail or beam (I hope) the records to other people. ¥ Adding NBP Entities They are not hard to put in. Some you might like to add are: Select Name,Select Plural,NBPEntity Laserwriter,Laserwriters,=:Laserwriter@ AFP Server, Servers, =:AFPServer@ Device, all devices, =:=@ CiscoRouter,Routers, =:ciscoRouter@ SNMP AGent,Agents, =:SNMP Agent@ Quadra 610,610s,=:Macintosh Quadra 610@ Workstation,Workstations,=:Workstation@ Retrospect, Retrospect Clients,=:Retrospect Remote@ I know it isn't pleasant entering them, but I'll try to add support for the metadata in the Connection Kit Pro, or perhaps an add defaults button somewhere. Besides, just make sure you're the second person on the block to get it and hopefully people can just mail or beam the ones they've put in to you. ¥ Warranty This program should do what IÕve described in this document.
